What distinguishes Ikebana from a simply decorative approach to flower arranging is its asymmetric forms and use of empty space. Choosing the different elements of the composition and enhancing them requires know-how and experience in order to create the sort of beauty which you don’t find in nature.
This workshop will show the various techniques used to create floral arrangements according to the seasons and/or holidays (Christmas, Easter,…).
Each class lasts 2 hours and everyone takes home her own creation.

Come and discover the art of Arraiolos carpet-making by making cushions, wall hangings, foot stool covers and even carpets using this ancient cross stitch technique of Slavic origin brought to the Iberian peninsula by North African peoples. It has existed in Portugal since the XVIth century, in Arraiolos which has given its name to the technique.
